Fairy tale The Rabbit and The Tortoise

One day, when a tortoise was walking, a rabbit came running from the other side. "hihi!, the tortoise. You walk slowly also today. Why do you walk slowly like that?" "I walk slowly but, nobody has bigger durability than mine." said the tortoise.

"You may compete with me to the top of that mountain." the tortoise said. The rabbit said, laughing aloud , "ha ha, It is interesting, Although It is impossible for you to win against me." The rabbit gathered friends promptly . The rabbit had a plan to give a disgrace and laugh at the tortoise. "Everybody, please look at the result of which one run fast in this dull tortoise and me ha ha."

"Ready !, Go!" The tortoise and the rabbit started with the shout of a fox, simultaneously . "Pyon!Pyon!Hyew" The rabbit ran at uncanny speed. And, the rabbit had reached to the middle of a mountain in a moment . "Where is the tortoise?" When the rabbit looked back, the tortoise was walking far after .

The audience laughed at him together, saying "Tortoise, tortoise, you are slowest in the world..ha ha." The tortoise was still walking aiming at the top of a mountain without doing a rest . The rabbit was tired of waiting, "The tortoise is yet far, I will also still do a nap for a while." He fell asleep at the midway of the mountain.

While the rabbit was sleeping, the tortoise is continuing walking without a rest . "Although I am a dull foot, I don't lose at durability to anybody . I will do my best!" After a while , when the tortoise came in the mountain, he heard a snore from some where. "What?, a snore is heard. Ah!, the rabbit is sleeping there."

Near the rabbit which is sleeping well , the tortoise walked step by step earnestly. After a while, the rabbit woke up at last. "Hee ! Where is the tortoise?" He looked for the tortoise, but he could not find it anywhere. when he noticed and looked at the top of a mountain, the tortoise was showing cheers there.

มีอยู่ในวันหนึ่ง ได้มีเต่าตัวหนึ่งคลานต้วมเตี้ยม ๆ มาตามวิสัยของมัน และที่ตรงอีกทางด้านหนึ่งก็ได้มีกระต่ายตัวหนึ่งวิ่งผ่านมา ทางนั้นเข้าอย่างบังเอิญด้วยความรวดเร็ว "ฮิฮิ! นี่เจ้าเต่า นายชอบ ที่จะเดินต่วมเตี้ยม ๆ อยู่อย่างนี้เสมอ ๆ ทำไมนายถึงได้เดินได้ช้าอย่างนั้นเล่า? " เต่าจึงได้พูดว่า " ถึงแม้ว่าข้าจะเดินได้ช้า แต่ถ้าพูดถึงเรื่องของความอดทนแล้วข้าไม่เคยแพ้ใคร "

" นายลองมาแข่งขันวิ่งไปที่บนยอดเขานั่นกับข้าดูเอาไหมล่ะ ? " กระต่ายเมื่อได้ยินอย่างนั้น ก็หัวเราะลั่นอย่างดัง "ฮ่ะ ฮ้า น่าสนใจมาก เลยทีเดียว แต่รับรองได้ว่าไม่มีทางที่เจ้าจะ เอาชนะข้าไปได้หรอก มันเปรียบเทียบกันไม่ได้..ว่างั้น" กระต่ายเที่ยวไปเรียกพวกพ้องให้มาชุมนุมกันอย่างทันท่วงที และรวมทั้งให้เป็นกรรมการใน การแข่งขันอีกด้วย " ทุก ๆ คนมาดูเป็นสักขีพยานว่าใครจะเป็นผู้ชนะ ในการแข่งขันวิ่งเร็ว ระหว่างเต่าโง่กับตัวข้า..ฮ่ะฮ่ะ "

" เตรียมพร้อม !,ไป " พอสิ้นเสียงบอกสัญญาณเริ่มการแข่งขันโดยสุนัขจิ้งจอก แล้วทั้งเต่าและกระต่ายก็เริ่มออกวิ่งไปพร้อม ๆ กัน " ปิย้อง ปิย้อง " กระต่าย กระโดดออกวิ่งนำหน้าไปด้วยความเร็วสูง เผลอแผลบเดียวมันก็วิ่งมาจนถึงที่ตรงจุดกึ่งกลาง ของทางระหว่างภูเขา มันจึงได้หยุดวิ่ง " เจ้าเต่ามันมาถึงไหนแล้วล่ะ ? " พูดแล้วมันก็ได้หันไปดู และก็ได้เห็นว่าเต่านั้นยังคงคลานตามมาอย่างช้า ๆ มองเห็นไกล ๆ

พวกผู้ชมที่มาชุมนุมกันต่างก็หัวเราะและได้พูดว่า " ท่านเต่า..ท่านเต่า ท่านนี่ ช่างเป็นผู้ที่เดินได้ช้ามาก อาจที่จะพูดได้ว่าเดินได้ช้าที่สุดในโลกเลยก็ได้..ฮ่ะฮ่ะ " แม้ว่าจะได้ยินแบบนั้นแต่เต่าก็ไม่สนใจอะไรยังคงคลานของมันต่อไปด้วยความเงียบสงบอย่าง ตั้งใจเพื่อที่จะให้ไปถึงที่บนยอดเขาโดยไม่คิดที่จะหยุดพักผ่อน ข้างฝ่ายกระต่ายเมื่อรอเท่าไหร่ ๆ ก็ไม่เห็นมีทีท่าว่าเจ้าเต่าจะตามมาทันมันสักที...มันจึงเริ่ม นึกเบื่อกับการรอคอย " เจ้าเต่ามันยังคงคลานอยู่อีกตั้งไกล นอนรอซักงีบหนึ่งคงได้.. ถึงยังไงมันก็ไม่มีทางที่ตามมาทันได้หรอก" มันพูดแล้วก็ล้มตัวลงนอน แล้วหลับไปตรง ที่กลางทางตรงภูเขานั่นเอง

ในขณะที่กระต่ายกำลังหลับอยู่อย่างสนิท เต่าซึ่งได้เดินมาอย่างไม่คิดที่ จะหยุดพักผ่อนนั้น " ถึงแม้ว่าขาของข้าจะสั้นเดินได้ช้าก็จริงแต่เรื่องของ ความอดทนแล้วข้าไม่เคยยอมแพ้ให้ใคร ข้าจะต้องทำดีที่สุดเท่าที่ข้าจะทำได้!" หลังจากที่ในขณะที่เต่าได้เดิน มาจนถึงที่ตรงจุดกึ่งกลางของภูเขา พลันมันก็ได้ ยินเสียงหนึ่งซึ่งเป็นเหมือนกับเสียงกรนจากในที่แห่งหนึ่ง " เสียงกรนที่ไหนนี่... อะฮ้า เจ้ากระต่ายนี่ มันมาแอบนอนหลับอยู่ที่นี่เอง"

ที่ใกล้ ๆ ตรงนั้นกระต่ายกำลังนอนหลับอยู่อย่างสุขสบาย ส่วนเต่านั้น ยังคงที่จะ เดินต่อไป...ทีละก้าว..ทีละก้าวอย่างจริงจังและอดทน และแล้วหลังจากนั้นชั่ว ขณะหนึ่งกระต่ายก็เริ่มรู้สึกตัวและสะดุ้งตื่นขึ้นมา " เฮ้..นี่เจ้าเต่า มันคลานมาจนถึงที่ไหนแล้วนี่?? " มันรีบกวาดสายตามองหา แต่ก็ช้าและสายไปเสียแล้ว เพราะเมื่อมันมองไปที่ตรงจุดเส้นชัยที่อยู่บนยอดเขาโน่น มันก็ได้เห็นว่าเจ้าเต่ากำลังแสดง ความยินดีที่ได้รับชัยชนะอยู่อย่างมีความสุข..อยู่ในขณะนั้นเสียแล้ว
